Important Jazz Contributions to Civilization
OK, so today I decided to list some of Jazz’s greatest contributions to cilvilization.
Here we go!
1. Mingus’ “Cat Toliet Training Program”: http://www.mingusmingusmingus.com/Mingus/cat_training.html.
Saving our economy from rising kitty litter and strongly scented candles!
2. Miles Davis’ “The Autobiography” with Quincy Troupe: Who else wants to find a way to fit two curse words into every sentence?
3. “Leather Cats” by Oregon: Waaaaitttt….. why didn’t smooth free jazz work?
4. “Space is the Place” The Sun Ra movie: Now playing at a theater near Venus. Wait, you mean you don’t have a copy of the “Movie that changed the world???”
5. Anthony Braxton’s “Comp. 26 F”: Wait… you don’t have this memorized??? AND YOU DON’T OWN THE SUN RA MOVIE???!!!
OK, well, that’s all for tonight. Apologies to Sun Ra (it’s a great movie, really), Anthony Braxton (Comp. 26 F is dedicated to Phillip Glass btw), Oregon (Leather Cats is a pretty hip tune), and Mingus, who truly is a genious.
No apologies to Miles though. He had one bad mouth.
