Most Well-Known Jazz Song, pt. 1
OK, Ladies and Gentlemen, here is part 1 of an ongoing study regarding what the most well-known jazz song is.
To make everything more fun, I’m contrasting the votes of the public (which may be just a wee bit influenced because some people are in band, but not jazz band), and that of jazz listeners/musicians.
I’ve just started collecting votes, and the public votes have
some predictable ones: What a Wonderful World, In The Mood
some possible ones: It Don’t Mean A Thing, Take Five
and some interesting ones: The Girl from Ipanema, My Funny Valentine
and the jazz listener ones are mostly predictable. In The Mood, Girl from Ipanema, So What (and 2 weird ones like Confirmation and Chameleon??!!!)
But I’ll keep you posted every other-day or so, until I am ready to release the results of my amateur study. Stay tuned!
